Tina Marie Rees, MA, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a United Methodist Minister. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor. I believe that the essence of therapy is contained in the relationship between you and I, where you are free to explore new ideas, behaviors, and ways of being. I also believe that feedback is a key part of the counseling process. Basically, if there is going to be a relationship between us, I can’t just sit there, nod my head and say ‘Hmmm, how does that make you feel?’ That just isn’t enough.
I provide counseling to adults 18 years and older. I have experience working with people challenged with personal trauma, a history of physical or sexual abuse, chronic pain and illness, family and relationship issues, codependency, spiritual issues, and also with adolescents and adults coping with divorce, separation, or grief and loss. I also provide general mental health counseling for people struggling with depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. I am particularly interested in working with adults coping with divorce, family of origin issues, chronic pain and illness, trauma, and women’s issues. I have a Masters in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University and a Masters in Divinity from Claremont School of Theology. I am currently a Level Two EMDR practitioner.
